On Monday afternoon, the NBA announced that DeMar DeRozan has earned the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors. In the Bulls' three games last week, DeRozan averaged 30.3 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 4.0 APG.

Since joining the Bulls, DeRozan has been playing at an MVP level. He leads the league in fourth-quarter points and has single-handedly made the mid-range jump shot cool again. He is a major reason the Bulls currently rank second in the Eastern Conference standings with a 16-8 record.

Alongside Zach LaVine, DeRozan has brought the Bulls back to relevance. With no signs of slowing down, this probably will not be the only time fans see him win this award. A 2021-22 NBA All-Star selection could very well be in his future if he keeps producing at this pace.
