It is no question that both EVP Arturas Karnisovas and GM Marc Eversley want to bring the Chicago Bulls back into the playoffs as soon as possible.

Earlier today, there were many reports indicating that the Bulls and Lonzo Ball have mutual interest in signing a contract. While this seemed like the only Bulls news, according to ESPN Reporter Brian Windhorst, the Bulls are also looking into adding another All-Star to the mix in the form of Demar DeRozan.

The Bulls have explored many avenues to try to acquire talent today. Earlier today, there have been ongoing discussions of a three team trade to offload Lauri Markkanen and bring in Lonzo Ball.

However, more rumors have come up indicating that Markkanen could be used as a sign and trade piece with the San Antonio Spurs to help bring in Derozan.

Prior to acquiring Nikola Vucevic at the trade deadline in March, the Bulls were heavily pursuing Demar DeRozan to pair alongside Zach LaVine.

DeRozan would be an interesting fit with this young core. He is a proven scorer with an ability to post 20 plus points on any given night. His presence would be an asset for the team, as it would provide a third scorer to pair alongside LaVine and Vucevic.

However, there are concerns with his game. Over the past few seasons, Derozan struggled on the defensive end. Additionally, he shot just under 26% from the three-point line. While the shooting may not be the biggest of concerns as LaVine is a great three point shooter in his own right, the defense is concerning. A lineup featuring LaVine, Derozan, and Vucevic doesn't provide much confidence on the defensive end.

However, experience cannot be denied, and DeRozan has plenty of playoff experience both with the Raptors and Spurs. Not only would he have a command of the locker room, but he would set a strong example of how everyone should work on their game each day.

The Bulls will have their challenges bringing DeRozan in. He might request a heavy contract, but he has also expressed his desire to play for a championship contender and return to his hometown of LA. If the Bulls are keen on adding DeRozan to this group, it will require a lot more effort on their part.
