If the Chicago Bulls win a third-straight contest for the first time this season when they face New York Friday, they’ll do so in shorthanded fashion. Per the team’s injury report, Derrick Jones Jr. (left ankle sprain) has been ruled out for the season-series finale with the Knicks, while both Alex Caruso and Javonte Green are listed as doubtful.
Alex Caruso suffered a right shoulder sprain and a concussion in a collision with De’Andre Hunter during Wednesday‘s win in Atlanta. Friday would mark his second absence of the season. Javonte Green has missed three straight games and six of the last nine as he continues to battle right knee soreness.
On a brighter note, Goran Dragic, who missed the game against the Hawks due to left ankle soreness, is probable.
The Bulls (13-18) dropped back-to-back contests against the Knicks (18-14) at home last week. They are one of only four teams — the Pistons, Raptors, and Hornets are the others — yet to record a three-game winning streak this season.
Quentin Grimes, who averaged 18 points and shot 9-for-17 from behind the arc in those contests, is questionable for the Knicks with a right ankle sprain.
Friday's tip-off between the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks is at 6:30 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
