The Chicago Bulls welcomed Baylor forward Mark Vital to the Advocate Center for a workout on Thursday, according to a post on the NBA Draft prospect's Instagram account. Of all the players the Bulls reportedly worked out, Vital best fits the "blue-collar Chicago mold". Vital isn't a dynamic scorer but he has a very high motor.
Vital played a pivotal role in helping Baylor reach their ultimate goal: winning the 2021 NCAA Championship. Vital can impact the game on the defensive end and on the glass. The Bulls struggled defensively at times last season, and Vital could be a high motor guy at the end of the bench who can come in and get late stops.
Throughout his collegiate career, Vital averaged 6.4 PPG, 1.8 APG, and 6.4 RPG. He also shot 50% from the field but only 12% from downtown. Vital is an older draft prospect at the age of 24, so there is no telling what his upside can be or if what you see is what you get. The highlight video below provides a glimpse of what Vital brings to the game.
With the NBA Draft approaching in under two weeks, look for the Bulls to continue their due dilligence on potential draftees.
