There were several possible directions for the Chicago Bulls with the 18th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The draft was a rollercoaster of trades and unexpected picks. Several Bulls' targets heard their names called just before Chicago picked. In the end, the Chicago Bulls selected guard, Dalen Terry, from Arizona.
Dalen Terry | Guard | 6-foot-7 | 19 Years Old | Arizona
Dalen Terry fits a need for the Chicago Bulls because he brings defense as a combo guard who can play on the wing. He's long, active, and can guard one through three.
When looking at the Bulls' rotation right now, it is easy to see Terry get his minutes right away, filling a role similar to Alex Caruso off the bench. This gives Billy Donovan more options to play with in his guard rotation.
Stats: 8.0 PPG | 4.8 RPG | 3.9 APG | 50.2% Shooting | 36.4% 3-Point
Of course, Dalen Terry has some weaknesses, specifically his offensive game. He needs to get stronger. He was bad from mid-range and he isn't a threat to pull up from three and knock it down consistently.
However, the Chicago Bulls drafted Dalen Terry because of his defensive activity and his role as a glue guy. This past season, he had a 4.5 DBPM while averaging 1.2 SPG.
Terry also knows how to run the floor and loves playmaking on the fast break. His shooting is better than it looks too. He hit 48% of his threes over his last 12 games.
