As the Chicago Bulls rose to contention during the 2021-22 season, excitement permeated through the Windy City. And perhaps no one brought that elation to life more than Adam Amin. Now, the Bulls' TV play-by-play announcer is receiving recognition for it. The National Sports Media Association (NSMA) named Amin the Illinois Sportscaster of the Year for 2021.
Amin joins a pair of NBC Sports Chicago colleagues to take home the award in recent years. Jason Benetti of the White Sox earned the honors in 2020, following Pat Foley of the Blackhawks in 2019.
Amin becomes the first Chicago Bulls announcer to win NSMA Illinois Sportscaster of the Year since Jim Durham in 1990. Durham also earned the title in 1989, which marked the first time a Bulls-specific broadcaster did so.
The list of past winners includes powerhouse media names such as Harry Caray, Jack Brickhouse, and many more. Now, Adam Amin joins the ranks after providing the soundtrack to the Bulls' resurgent season.
