Chicago Bulls point guard Coby White underwent successful surgery today on his left shoulder. Reports indicate that he suffered the injury during basketball activities. Though, they were activities unrelated to the Chicago Bulls.
Coby White averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in 54 games as a starter this past season. Coby came on very strong in the second half of the season and was playing some of his best basketball. With the news of Coby's injury, it is unknown if he will be ready to start the regular season which starts October 19, 2021. He will reportedly be re-evaluated in four months.
This also hurts Coby White's development in a real system like head coach Billy Donovan's, as he has to watch from the sidelines instead of participating in practices with All-Star teammates Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. Hopefully White can heal quickly and be on the floor to start the regular season as the Bulls look to turn their misfortunes around.
