The NBA Playoffs aren't over yet, but offseason trade speculation is very much alive and well. Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz recently wrote an article about potential moves lottery teams could make to avoid missing the playoffs. In the article, Greg suggested a trade that would send Kemba Walker to the Chicago Bulls.

Kemba Walker could be the point guard the Chicago Bulls need. Sure, the backcourt defense featuring Walker and Zach LaVine may not be flattering on the eyes, but offensively those two can tear it up. The four-time NBA All-Star is coming off his second season with the Boston Celtics. Walker has also been dealing with left knee pain the last two seasons, though he recently said in an interview that he hopes "to feel good again." In Walker's last five regular-season games, he averaged 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

In the proposed trade, the Bulls would be sending Coby White, Tomas Satoransky, and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Celtics. While White did show flashes of learning the point guard position this past season, he may not fit the Bulls timetable to compete right now. In 54 starts at point guard in 2020-21, White averaged 16.6 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 4.6 RPG in 33 minutes per game. Coby White is obviously the focal point of the Celtics' return package for Walker if the trade were to happen, and the potential he's shown could blend well with the young talent currently on Boston's roster.

On the flip side, bringing Kemba Walker to Chicago would automatically put the Bulls in the playoff hunt — that is if he can stay on the court. As depicted in the statistics above, Walker had been a model of consistency before this left knee issue. Pairing Kemba Walker with Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic gives the Chicago Bulls three legitimate NBA All-Stars.

While this is just a hypothetical scenario, it's fun to think about. Hell, there may even be real legs behind this. Boston is currently undergoing major changes and Marc Eversley and Artūras Karnišovas haven't been shy about pulling off a big move. If this trade were to happen and Kemba Walker can remain healthy, the Chicago Bulls would instantly become a threat in the Eastern Conference.
