Today it was announced that Luol Deng retired as a Chicago Bull.

Luol Deng joined the Chicago Bulls in the 2004 NBA season, in which he was named to the 2005 All-NBA Rookie First Team. A one-and-done at Duke University, Deng was drafted with the seventh overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Phoneix Suns. Luol was then traded right after the pick to the Chicago Bulls due to a prior agreement made between the two franchises.

Luol was a key piece to the "Baby Bulls" during their 2005 run into the playoffs and quickly made himself into a top starting-caliber small forward. Even with the success that Luol had during his early years, it wasn't until Bulls' former head coach Tom Thibodeau came aboard that Luol blossomed.

Luol became an All-Star in the 2012-2013/2013-2014 seasons under Thibs and also was named to the All-NBA Second Defensive team in 2012.

All the contributions and memories Luol created at the United Center will never be forgotten. It was truly an honor as a fan to see Luol progress through his career. What a class act move by the Chicago Bulls to let Luol Deng retire as a member of this franchise.
