Derrick Jones Jr. has been one of the Chicago Bulls' most important contributors off the bench this year. The 6-foot-6 high-flying forward has averaged 6.7 PPG, 3.4 RPG, and 0.9 BPG on 57.4% shooting in 17.9 MPG. However, Jones Jr. has only played in one of the last five games due to a hamstring injury. However, he will return for tonight's contest with the Atlanta Hawks.
As the Bulls navigate several COVID-related absences, Jones Jr. returning will be a much-needed boost to the team's frontcourt. Against a Hawks team that will be looking to avenge their loss to the Bulls on Monday, having DJJ back will be a great help.
It is certainly possible he has a minutes limitation as he comes back due to the nature of his injury. Hamstrings are, you know, kind of important for explosiveness, but either way, we should see Derrick Jones Jr. impacting the game tonight.
