We are 24 hours away from the 2022 NBA Draft. Teams are preparing to brighten their futures, while young stars prepare for the biggest day of their young lives. Former Ohio State star forward and potential first-round pick E.J. Liddell was asked which team he would want to draft him, and his answer will please Chicago Bulls fans.
"If it was the Bulls...I'd be very happy. Hopefully, Illinois fans would start liking me,” said Liddell.
The 21-year-old grew up in Belleville, IL. His hometown is 25 minutes outside of St. Louis, MO.
The Bulls are in need of a stretch forward and someone to complement big man Nikola Vucevic. Despite trade rumors, if the Bulls decide to keep Vucevic, having Liddell alongside him would be an excellent fit for the team.
His 6-foot-7, 240-pound frame would add rebounding, defensive versatility, and spot-up shooting to Chicago's frontline. In his junior year at Ohio State, Liddell averaged 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 blocked shots per game.
Projected as a mid to late first-round draft pick, E.J. Liddell should be available by the time the 18th pick comes around. So, if the Chicago Bulls decide to hold on to their first-round pick, Liddell would be an excellent choice to help push further toward their championship aspirations.
