The Chicago Bulls are still fully invested in forward Patrick Williams. The fourth pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is preparing to enter his third season with the Bulls. Media, fans, and teammates expect Williams to take a big leap during the 2022-23 campaign.
On the Hoop Collective podcast, Brian Windhorst of EPSN said the Bulls "believe a lot in Williams" and "view him as a possible two-way core player moving forward." Williams will have some added pressure on him entering this season. With news emerging of Lonzo Ball possibly missing the start of the season, Williams must step up to help cover the void left by the star point guard's potential absence.
Obviously, Williams doesn't play the same position as Ball does. But Ball's aggressiveness at times last year helped the Bulls win games. Williams needs to cultivate a mentality of being aggressive offensively to become another weapon that helps DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic reach their ultimate goal.
The internal confidence that the Chicago Bulls' organization has in Patrick Williams screams to fans that they believe he can be a star. It's his time to show the league that he is ready to take the next step and become a household NBA name.
