After returning from their West Coast road trip the Bulls have sent Marko Simonovic to the G-League.
Marko Simonovic was brought up to the Bulls with Nikola Vucevic in COVID safety protocols. The Bulls were already undersized and lacked depth with Patrick Williams out for the year. Vucevic's absence was almost Earth-shattering but the Bulls still managed to go 3-2 on their difficult West Coast trip. Simonovic was brought along as a "use only in emergency" situation. Nikola Vucevic is still out tonight vs. the New York Knicks but it sounds like he is getting close to returning.
The Bulls used the 44th pick in 2020 on Marko Simonovic. With the Windy City Bulls season in full swing, Simonovic can get lots of playing time to adjust to the NBA style of play. He still played a year overseas, in which he dominated, before coming to the Bulls. The Bull's front office has the expectation of him being a part of the big picture in the rotation. But this year was just a developmental year so any direct benefit Simonovic would give to the Bulls would be a great surprise.
