Today the Chicago Bulls released their schedule for the upcoming 2019-2020 NBA season.
I am a little bummed out that the Bulls will not be playing on Christmas Day (again) but there are some games I am super excited about. Of course, I am a homer for inner division games and cannot wait to face Detroit, Milwaukee, Indiana, and Cleveland. The intrigue level is so high to play these teams and see how the Bulls young talent stacks up.
The third game of the season has caught my eye as well. Toronto comes and visits the Bulls at the United Center. Fresh off an NBA Championship, the Bulls have a real shot to knock around the reigning champs. It's not the same team as last year, with the Toronto Raptors losing Kawhi Lenoard to the Los Angeles Clippers but still, they did with the 'ship.
A concerning stretch in the schedule is no doubt March 30th through April 8th. The Bulls play some very tough squads. Utah, Denver, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers. Three of those teams had Western Conference playoff births last year and with the Lakers adding Anthony Davis alongside LeBron James they're going to be tough.
I try not to be overly optimistic but I have a weird faith in the squad this year. Zach LaVine is poised to become a superstar, Lauri Markkanen has another year under his belt, Wendell Carter Jr. will be healthy and ready, and Otto Porter Jr. is a savvy vet who seems to fit in with the young Bulls team.
October 7th is the first preseason game and I cannot wait. I need basketball in my life and with a young squad like this, my hopes are sky-high.
