As the City of Chicago lifts face mask and vaccination requirements, the United Center is following suit. Fans attending Blackhawks or Bulls games -- and other events at the arena -- will now only have to present a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination for admission. Additionally, the United Center is making masks optional, though the venue still recommends them.

This policy change is essentially reverting to the entry requirements that were in place at the beginning of the 2021-22 NHL and NBA seasons. The United Center had the same policy outlined above -- but with masks still mandatory -- from Sep. 2, 2021 through Jan. 2, 2022. On Jan. 3, the venue began requiring proof of vaccination for entry.

The revised policy goes into effect on March 1, 2022. The first Blackhawks game under the new requirements will be Thursday, March 3 when the Edmonton Oilers come to town. The same will apply to the Bulls on Friday, March 4 when they host the Milwaukee Bucks.
