According to numerous rumors, the Chicago Bulls have been showing their annual interest in EuroLeague MVP Vasilije Micić. If you missed it, here is our write-up of the Bulls' interest in Micić just over a year ago. However, this time, their rumored interest has been shut down before anything could really be made of it.
Who is Vasilije Micić?
Micić is a 28-year-old guard who has been playing professionally overseas since he was 16. An impressive scorer, Micić is quick with a good handle and has steadily (mostly) improved his three-point shot over the course of his career. Last year, I compared his game to recent Bulls' signee Goran Dragic. The Oklahoma City Thunder currently own the 2020-21 EuroLeague MVP's NBA rights, but Micić does not fit their timeline if he comes to the US. As such, a contending team like the Bulls makes more sense.
In the Turkish Super League this past season, Micić put up 24 PPG and 7.7 APG. He shot 47.5% from the field and 42.9% from deep for Anadolu Efes. Now, essentially when we are first hearing of the Bulls' interest in Micić this time around, the rumor mill has been shut down before it even started. As noted above, Micić is sticking with Anadolu Efes next season.
As a European player, Vasilije Micić may just end up being one of those stars overseas who never comes stateside. Either way, we look forward to bringing you the Chicago Bulls' annual interest in Micić next year during the 2023 offseason.
