Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine recently showed some love to fellow Washington native Isaiah Thomas. Thomas, who has been trying to make a comeback to the NBA, just signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers and Thomas agreed to a 10-day contract, which will give the veteran guard a chance to prove himself.
LaVine sent out a tweet after Thomas's first NBA G League game with the Grand Rapids Gold. "Get him back in the league already damn... .," LaVine replied to a SportsCenter graphic illustrating Thomas' 42-point performance in his G League debut.
After the impressive performance, the Lakers signed Thomas, which led to LaVine posting a congratulatory message.
This isn't the first time the Bulls' star has sent out a tweet congratulating Thomas. He did the same last year when Thomas signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Zach LaVine and Isaiah Thomas have a history together. Both are from Washington, where they play in the Seattle Drew League. They often participate in offseason workouts together as well. In January of 2021, there were even reports LaVine attempting to get the Bulls to sign Thomas.
