Wolves' Noesen Putting Together Historic Season
The Chicago Wolves continue to cement themselves as an AHL power house. After dropping their April 3 contest against the Texas Stars, the Wolves find themselves riding a three-game win streak. However, Chicago witnessed one of their forwards accomplish an incredible milestone this season. For the first time in 11 years, the AHL has a 40-goal scorer in the form of Stefan Noesen.
Noesen's tally at the 51-second mark of the second period on Sunday, April 10 helped the NHL and AHL journeyman maintain his AHL lead in goal scoring. Noesen cemented himself in front of the Cleveland Monsters' net in Sunday's win, cleaning up an attempt from one of two leading point getters in the AHL, Andrew Poturalski.
Noesen's Offensive Outburst
Noesen is experiencing a breakout season. The 29-year-old has spent his career with a number of organizations, spending time in Anaheim, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Toronto, San Jose, and now, Carolina. Although he's moved around a bit, Noesen has experienced success in the AHL, but has largely been an odd man out of the lineup at the NHL level.
