After hinting at big news on Monday, the Chicago Wolves unveiled their new alternate jersey for the 2021-22 season on Thursday. The new 'Storm' jerseys are an honor to the team's affiliation with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Chicago Wolves began their affiliation with Carolina ahead of the 2020-21 season. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the first season of the affiliation played in front of fans. This jersey is a perfect way to excite the Wolves' fan base ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
The jerseys feature a new 'W' patch on the shoulder, a lovely detail to the new sweater. The Wolves' traditional yellow and maroon colors are featured nicely throughout the jersey, and the grey and black present nice contrast throughout. Its fair to say that this is one of the nicer alternates the Wolves have had in their history.
The Wolves take the ice for the first time in 2021-22 on October 16 at Allstate Arena. The Wolves host in-state rival, the Rockford IceHogs, at 7:00 p.m. CDT. This will be the first time fans will be in attendance, and the Wolves will be at Allstate Arena, since the Wolves defeated the IceHogs on March 8, 2020.
