The Chicago Hounds signed flanker Mike Matarazzo on Thursday, the club announced.

The 24-year-old flanker scored one try and recorded 113 tackles in 14 appearances (13 starts) for the Dallas Jackals this past season. He had six tackles and four lineout takes in one game for Rugby Atlanta in 2021. Atlanta selected him eighth overall in the 2020 Major League Rugby Collegiate Draft.

The Staten Island, New York native is familiar with the Midwest. He was a two-time captain at the University of Notre Dame, where he earned 2017 All-American honors.
