The Chicago Hounds signed their sixth player, center Billy Meakes, on Saturday after selecting him in the Major League Rugby Expansion Draft.

Meakes is a highly-decorated Austrian international with two first-team All-Pro honors and two Back of the Year awards. He helped Los Angeles defeat Atlanta and new Hounds teammate Mark O'Keefe to win the 2021 MLR Championship Shield.

Meakes, who will turn 32 in February, has scored five tries and recorded 241 tackles in only two MLR seasons with Los Angeles.
