
Chicago Hounds Sign Former Austin Gilgronis Hooker Hugh Roach
The Chicago Hounds signed Hugh Roach on Wednesday after selecting him in the Major League Rugby Dispersal Draft in November.
The 30-year-old hooker scored seven tries on 66 carriers and recorded 144 tackles in 12 appearances for the Austin Gilgronis this past season.
Prior to MLR, Roach scored 10 tries and 50 points in 50 appearances in Super Rugby with the Waratahs (2013-18), Rebels (2019), and Crusaders (2020). The Australian scored all his tries and points with the Waratahs.
Roach is the seventh former Austin player to sign with the Hounds and rejoin their former head coach Sam Harris.
