Chicago Beaches Reopening

After being shut down for over a year due to COVID-19, Chicago is finally opening up its beaches to the public again. While the true opening weekend was last week, this weekend will be the first with temperatures in the 80s.

Navy Pier is back open and will be featuring firework shows on Wednesday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The show is free of charge and you’ll be able to take in the display from any open areas on the Pier.

Chicago BBQ, Boots, and Bourbon Fest


One of the first fests of the year is a pig roast ($12.50) with a Toby Kieth cover band. It also has a selection of 50 bourbons to try and a dozen BBQ meats. And the best part, they also have a mechanical bull if you are up for a challenge after downing some bourbon and the delicious BBQ.

After dropping their final two games in Cleveland before a rainout, the White Sox returned home and won the first two games of a four-game weekend set against the Tigers. They'll look to build on the excitement of Friday night's walk-off win as they take the field the rest of the weekend. On Saturday, the South Siders will be debuting their City Connect jerseys. After sweeping the Padres at home earlier in the week, the Cubs ventured to the Bay Area for a weekend series against the Giants.
