Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn keep racking up the hardware with their Illini basketball brethren. Today, the Associated Press announced Dosunmu as a member of the All-American first team, while Cockburn made the All-American second team.

The last Illinois players to hold All-American honors were Luther Head (second team), Deron Williams (second team), and Dee Brown (first team) in 2005. That season, Illinois made the National Championship game but fell short against the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, this is the first time an Illinois player has been named to the AP All-American first team.

Dosunmu, Cockburn, and the rest of the Illini will begin their pursuit for a National Championship when they meet the Drexel Dragons in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday.
