Duke to Host Illinois Basketball in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Illinois basketball has been tabbed to match up with college hoops powerhouse Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, further adding to the hype in Champaign.

Per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, the Illini basketball team will travel to North Carolina to play the Duke Blue Devils in the 2020 Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Typically, the best teams in each conference play each other in the annual interleague showdown. Given all the positive press surrounding Illinois basketball entering the 2020 college basketball season, this matchup announcement doesn't come as a surprise. Duke is one of the most notable basketball powerhouses in the country. This is great news for the Illini, as Ayo Dosunmu, Kofi Cockburn, and company will be able to strut their stuff against the best.

UPDATE - 10/30/20, 9:09 AM CT: A date for the Illinois vs. Duke matchup has been set — Tuesday, December 8th.
