The original Illini schedule was unbalanced at times with a stretch of four consecutive home games from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8. Now, Illinois has a more standard setup.

After hosting Wyoming to open the season, the Illini will see Indiana for the first time since 2017 to open Big Ten play. The Hoosiers replace Penn State as the Illini's lone opponent change.

Virginia and Chattanooga represent non-conference home games before Illinois travels to Wisconsin to begin a stretch of eight consecutive conference games. The Illini have two "bye weeks" on Sept. 17 and Oct. 22.

Currently, all scheduled dates take place on Saturday. The Big Ten may move select games to Thursday or Friday dates as it has done in past seasons.
