More preseason recognition has come Illinois basketball's way as Andre Curbelo and Kofi Cockburn made the Big Ten Preseason First Team.

Cockburn also earned Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year honors.

Curbelo is coming off a fabulous freshman campaign, winning Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year. Now he's primed to be Illinois' top playmaker with Ayo Dosunmu in the NBA and Adam Miller transferring to LSU.

The dynamic sophomore also landed on the Bob Cousy Award Watch List, which goes to the best point guard in the country. Dosunmu took home those honors last season.

Cockburn, who initially entered the NBA Draft but decided to return to Illinois, also received national recognition as a member of the Associated Press Preseason All-American Team. Cockburn is receiving more hype than any college basketball player, and rightfully so. The imposing Illini center finished with NCAA Consensus Second-Team All-American and AP Second Team All-American honors last season.

He was the only player in college basketball to average 15 or more points per game and nine or more rebounds per game while shooting at least 60 percent from the field.

Single-game tickets for Illini basketball went on sale today. With fans returning to the State Farm Center this season, there's no better time than now to get your tickets to watch another fun Brad Underwood team.
