NEWS: Illinois' Kofi Cockburn Declares for NBA Draft

The star center for the University of Illinois has declared for the NBA Draft.

Per his Instagram, star center for the 2019-2020 Fighting Illini, Kofi Cockburn, is declaring for the NBA Draft.

Seeing how his stock might get much higher in 2020-2021 with Jalen Smith and Matt Haarms leaving the Big Ten, he could be just testing the waters of the NBA Draft and intend on returning to Illinois.

From the looks of it, he could be drafted. Cockburn had a monster freshman season, putting up 13.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He will be sorely missed by the University of Illinois if he is indeed drafted. Not only would he be lost to the NBA, but a number of other Illinois players have already entered the transfer portal to move on next season.
