The Chicago Cubs will have a sense of continuity in the broadcast booth for the foreseeable future. According to Marquee Sports Network via the Chicago Sun-Times, play-by-play announcer Jon Sciambi and color commentator Jim Deshaies have signed multiyear extensions with Marquee Sports Network.

Jim Deshaies has been in the color position for the Cubs since 2013. During Deshaies' first seven years with the Cubs, he was joined by longtime play-by-play man Len Kasper. However entering the 2021 season, Kasper took the radio job with the Chicago White Sox. This move opened the door for the Cubs to add Jon "Boog" Sciambi as their play-by-play guy in 2021.

Instantly, Deshaies and Sciambi hit it off. The duo was sensational calling Cubs games on their new team-owned network and became a hit with the fans. In addition, the pair helped Marquee win the Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in a Live Sporting Event for the broadcast on May 26, 2021. On that broadcast, the duo was joined by Ryan Dempster and Taylor McGregor in earning the achievement.

Boog Sciambi will continue calling Sunday Night Baseball on the radio. Marquee Sports Network will announce his fill-ins at a later date. Last year, Beth Mowins and Chris Myers were among the names who stepped in for Sciambi when needed.

Although the MLB season's start is in question, the duo in the broadcast booth for the Cubs is not. Sciambi is back for his second season in 2022, while Deshaies will call his 10th season.
