Jake Marisnick

The Cubs have activated outfielder Jake Marisnick ahead of Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. Marisnick missed time with a hamstring injury. Upon his return tonight, he'll play centerfield and bat fifth.

To make room for Marisnick on the roster, the Cubs sent RHP Kohl Stewart back to Triple-A Iowa. Stewart made two starts for the Cubs, going 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA, seven strikeouts, and a 1.50 WHIP in 8.2 innings of work.

Through 27 games this season, Marisnick is slashing .264/.350/.623 with four home runs and 14 runs driven in. In addition, Marisnick has a pair of triples and three doubles. Marisnick is a welcomed sight for Cubs fans, as he not only plays quality defense in centerfield, but he also hits well off lefties. Before his activation, Kris Bryant was "technically" the only right-handed hitter playing in the outfield.
