The Chicago Cubs head to Milwaukee on Friday for a three-game series against the Brewers at American Family Field.
The Cubs (54-71) lost three games in four days against the Cardinals, including splitting a doubleheader Tuesday, at Wrigley Field. Chicago shut out St. Louis 2-0 in Game 1 on Tuesday and won 7-1 on Wednesday.
The Brewers (65-58) lost two of three games at the Los Angeles Dodgers since Milwaukee played in Chicago. Milwaukee won the first game against the Dodgers 4-0 then fell 10-1 and 12-6.
The Cubs are 18 games back of the NL Central-leading Cardinals, who are up six games on the Brewers. The North Siders are playing competitive baseball of late and will look to build on that for the future. The Cubs can also use their decent play of late to make the Brewers' (1.5 games out of the NL wild card) chase to the postseason more difficult.
