The Cubs have now successfully signed four of their five MLB Draft picks after agreeing to terms with LHP Burl Carraway, LHP Luke Little, and RHP Koen Moreno.
As Jordan Bastian mentioned above, only the Cubs' third-round selection Jordan Nwogu is unsigned. On Tap Sports Net podcast Cubs On Tap had Jordan on, but he did not allude to any signing information. However, he did mention in the interview that he felt the Cubs were a good fit for him, making it apparent that he is likely to sign. That conversation can be found here.
Little and Moreno are likely not ready for any type of big league action in the near future. Moreno is a high school prospect, so he will need a few years, but Little was a JUCO player and could be ready at some point in 2021 or 2022.
Carraway is a unique case, however. Carraway was a college reliever and hits 100mph on his fastball with great secondary pitches. A lot of experts, including Bleacher Nation's Bryan Smith, predict Carraway could be carried on the taxi squad for the Cubs and potentially even see time this season with the club.
The dollar value for each player can be seen below, per Gordon Wittenmyer:
There isn't much surprise with Little being slot value, but getting Carraway below slot is a pleasant surprise, especially considering he could be MLB ready right now. That said, Moreno being above slot isn't surprising because he could have easily gone to East Carolina University for college.
As the Cubs continue to work on signing Nwogu, the front office can sleep at night knowing four of their five picks are now under contract.
