The Chicago Cubs head out on a six-game road trip, starting with a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

The Cubs (65-79, fourth in NL Central) enter their road trip having lost three straight and four of their past five. The MLB-leading San Francisco Giants swept the Cubs, who were outscored 37-10 in the series including a 15-4 loss.

Cubs manager David Ross returned to the club during the series after his 10-day self-isolation period in the wake of a positive COVID-19 test. Bench coach Andy Green served as the acting manager during Ross' absence.

The Phillies (72-71, second in NL East) have also lost four of their past five, which includes three losses by one run. Garrett Hampson hit two home runs to drive in all of the Colorado Rockies' runs in a 5-4 win against the Phillies on Sunday. The Phillies lost three of four at home against the Rockies, who are 30 games below .500 (21-51) on the road.
