Brennen Davis Named Cubs' Minor League Player of the Year; DJ Herz Named Pitcher of the Year

The Chicago Cubs announced a pair of honors among their farm system on Thursday morning. Top prospect Brennen Davis is the organization's Minor League Player of the Year and DJ Herz was named the club's Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Davis began the Minor League season in South Bend but advanced all the way to Triple-A Iowa by the end of the campaign.

In 99 games, Davis finished with a .260/.375/.494 slash line, 19 home runs, and an .869 OPS. Davis is primed to get the call to the big leagues next season, climbing all the way to No. 14 in the MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospect rankings. The outfielder caught eyes at the Futures Game during the All-Star break, winning MVP honors.
