The Cubs have finalized their rotation, and the general public now knows who the starting pitchers will be against the Pirates to open the season. Per Bruce Levine, the Cubs will trot out Kyle Hendricks, Jake Arrieta, and Zach Davies, respectively, in the first three games of the season.

The Cubs announced Kyle Hendricks as the Opening Day starter a few days ago. He was the clear-cut choice to take the ball on Opening Day.

Jake Arrieta has been solid in Spring Training, pitching 15.0 innings while maintaining a 2.40 ERA, ten strikeouts, and only four walks.

As for Davies, he has been magnificent for the Cubs. Davies sports a 0.68 ERA with a 3-0 record, 12 strikeouts, and seven walks over 13.1 innings pitched in Spring Training action. Davies is giving Cubs fans something to cheer for, especially after he was not a welcomed addition when the team sent fan-favorite Yu Darvish to San Diego.

The Cubs open the season at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 1st. The Cubs are off on the 2nd before returning on April 3rd and April 4th to finish their opening series.
