The Chicago Cubs have been valued at $4.14 billion dollars, good for fourth-highest in Major League Baseball according to Sportico.

The valuations came out Thursday as part of Sportico's MLB Valuations 2021 Report. The report broke down each team's total value by adding the team's fair-market value and value of all team-related businesses, the latter of which included real-estate holdings.

The Cubs current fair-market value is $3.67 billion while the team-related businesses added $470 million.

In regards to the fair-market value of the team, the Cubs actually ranked third behind the Yankees and Dodgers. The related businesses saw the Cubs ranked fourth, where the Red Sox actually led the way, most likely due to the conglomerate of assets Fenway Sports Group possesses.

The interesting tidbit of information came from the team's revenue numbers. The Cubs ranked third in revenue in 2019 ($516 million) and moved only one spot down to fourth in 2020 ($143 million). However, the 72% drop in year-over-year revenue was tied for the second-largest drop of all of MLB teams (tied with Nationals). The Yankees had the biggest drop in revenue (-75%).

The Ricketts Family will sure be glad to see fans at Wrigley Field this season. While revenue certainly won't get back to pre-COVID levels in 2021, all teams, including the Cubs, should see revenues sky-rocket from 2020 numbers.
