After a crazy first season for Cubs Manager David Ross, the rookie skipper has been named a finalist for the NL Manager of the Year award.

The Cubs won the NL Central for the first time since 2017 with a 34-26 record. Despite many experts thinking the Cubs would be awful this season, the team came out of the gate hot, starting the season 13-3. Although they played below .500 for the rest of the season, they did enough to capture a division title in Ross' first season.

Unfortunately, Ross' rookie season came to a brutal end after the Cubs were upset by the Miami Marlins in the best-of-three play-in series for the MLB Playoffs after the playoffs were extended for the shortened season.

The Manager of the Year winners will be announced on November 10 per the BBWAA. Ross has a serious chance to win the award, especially since he was a first year manager. However, Don Mattingly and Jayce Tingler have serious cases as well.
