After the stars of the Chicago Cubs schedule aligned, LHP Justin Steele set up to throw two straight starts against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After an incredible 10-strikeout performance his first time out, Steele followed it up with a nine-strikeout performance at Wrigley Field on Saturday.

With his nine strikeouts on Saturday, Steele has 19 K's in his last two starts. After a rocky start to the season for the entire Cubs starting rotation, Steele and company have settled in and been one of the best pitching staffs in the majors.

The general naysayers will say that all his recent success is against the Diamondbacks. However, regardless of opponent, Steele's stuff has played the best it has all season. In Saturday's start, Steele's slider was his put-away pitch, constantly freezing hitters as he threw it on the corners.
