The news on Easter Sunday was sad for Cubs fans familiar with the 1960s and '70s as former Cub Glenn Beckert has passed away.

Fergie Jenkins and Beckert played eight seasons together with the Cubs in the mid-to-late '60s and early '70s. Beckert had an impressive career with the Cubs, he played well over 1,200 games with the team, registered over 1,400 hits, drove in 353 runs, and had a career average of .283 with the team.

Beckert won the NL 2B Gold Glove award in 1968 and appeared in four straight All-Star games from 1969 to 1972.
