G'day boys and girls. Whenever the Cubbies are playing a 'rivalry game,' I'm gonna do my damndest to unearth a nugget from that day in the history of the two teams. In a perfect world, the Cubs win the game and a player of note did something noteworthy. Let's see where we end up.

Today, the Cubs kick off a three-game tilt vs. the Redbirds. On May 3rd, 2004, they bested their foe down I-55 by a 7-3 score. The winning pitcher was Greg Maddux, and the loser was Jason Marquis. Noteworthiness already confirmed.
