Patrick Wisdom Breaks Kris Bryant's Cubs Rookie Home Run Record
Patrick Wisdom's name is going into the Chicago Cubs history books.
The 30-year-old hit his 27th home run of the season to set the Cubs rookie home run mark, with a three-runagainst the Milwaukee Brewers. Kris Bryant previously held the record with 26 in 2015.
Wisdom has set the new record record in only 101 games, while it took Bryant, the second overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft out of San Diego, 151 games in 2015. Wisdom still has time to add to the record.

The Cubs signed Wisdom to a minor-league contract last August then re-signed him this past January. His home run production has surpassed anyone's expectations for him when he was moved to the active roster in May. While he's unlikely to be part of The Next Great Cubs Team™, a term used this summer by president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer, Wisdom has certainly made a case for himself to be part of the 2022 team.
Selected in the first round (No. 52 overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2012 draft out of Saint Mary's College of California, Wisdom has played for the Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and Cubs in the majors.
