Cubs' top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong earned the MiLB Gold Glove for his spectacular defense with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and South Bend Cubs in 2022.

Although this might not come as much of a surprise, another member of the Chicago Cubs' system has been awarded a Gold Glove. This time, Cubs' OF and No. 1 overall prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong has been awarded the MiLB Gold Glove for 2022.

Crow-Armstrong was sensational in 2022. Although his offensive numbers certainly turned heads, his defensive numbers are just as impressive. To open the 2022 campaign, Crow-Armstrong posted a .944 fielding percentage with the Low-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Once promoted to High-A South Bend, his numbers were even better. He posted a .985 fielding percentage in more games with the South Bend Cubs.

Just last week, the Cubs debuted their "On Deck" YouTube series, highlighting top prospects in the system. Pete Crow-Armstrong was the first to be highlighted, and his defense was a focus of his episode. Crow-Armstrong made incredible plays regularly with the South Bend Cubs.

The award is very possibly only the first for the Cubs' No. 1 prospect. He'll likely be asked to man centerfield at Wrigley Field in the near future, possibly earning another one, or more, of those Gold Gloves. That said, this is a great start in cementing Crow-Armstrong's defensive ability as his career progresses.
