The Chicago Cubs finish a quick six-game homestand with a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies starting Monday at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs (54-72, fourth in NL Central) entered the homestand with back-to-back wins, but failed to carry that momentum against the Kansas City Royals, who swept the series (6-2, 4-2, 9-1). Sunday's loss was Chicago's record-breaking 13th straight loss at home. The 1994 team previously held the record at 12 games. Chicago hasn't won at home since former Cub Javier Báez delivered a 6-5 walk-off win against the Reds on July 26. The recent skid, which started the next day, drops the Cubs to .500 (31-31) at home this season.

The Rockies (57-67, fourth in NL West) fell 8-4 to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday to end a five-game win streak and nine-game streak at home. Colorado has struggled on the road, with a 14-45 record.

Reverse Standings Watch

The Cubs hold the sixth-worst record in the MLB. They're 1.5 games back of the Washington Nationals, and 2.5 games up on the Miami Marlins for fifth.

The Rockies have the 10th-worst record. They're two games behind the Detroit Tigers, and 1.5 games up on the Royals.

Season Series

The Cubs went 1-2 against the Rockies earlier this month in Denver. Chicago dropped the first game 13-6 then split the next two by one run, winning the second game 3-2 then losing 6-5.
