The Cubs announced Monday that the team will have a rededication ceremony for Wrigley Field on Thursday. As a part of the rededication, the team is unveiling a documentary on their YouTube channel titled Saving Wrigley Field.
The documentary will showcase the renovations made to Wrigley Field to preserve the federal landmark. In addition, the team announced they will also be creating the Cubs Hall of Fame as a part of the rededication to Wrigley Field.
This is definitely something new, and a way for the team to continue preserving the incredible history of the franchise. Moments such as John Baker's pitching win, the World Series win in 2016, and so much more can now be enshrined in a Hall of Fame of their own.
With the tough 2021 season nearly over, the Cubs are doing everything they can to divert attention away from the product on the field. That said, allowing fans to learn more about the ballpark and the renovations that were made is cool content for Cubs fans still starving for baseball.
The events will occur on Thursday, August 19. The Cubs are off that day after their three-game series in Cincinnati, so the team will make it a day to celebrate and rededicate beautiful Wrigley Field.
