On a trade deadline day that Cubs fans will forever remember, the Chicago Cubs traded Kris Bryant to the San Francisco Giants.

Bryant is the last member of the Cubs core to be traded. Many of the Cubs' fan favorites have all been dealt in the last 36 hours.

Bryant is having a solid season, slashing .267/.358/.503 with 18 home runs and 51 RBIs. In addition, Bryant has 19 doubles and two triples this season. He's been nothing but an extra-base hit machine in 2021.

According to MLB Network, the Cubs receive outfielder Alexander Canario and right-handed pitcher Caleb Kilian.

Canario is a 21-year-old outfielder currently playing a Low-A ball. He ranked #9 in a very deep Giants' farm system, so that's an encouraging sign for the Cubs. In 65 minor league games this season, Canario is slashing .235/.325/.433 with nine home runs and 29 RBIs. According to Jim Callis while on Marquee Sports Network, he believes Canario profiles as a right fielder.

Kilian might be the more exciting prospect of the two. In 15 starts between High-A ball and Double-A, Kilian is 6-2 with a 2.13 ERA. He also has 96 strikeouts to just nine walks. In addition, he's thrown two complete games and a shutout this season at Double-A. Per Jim Callis, Kilian has an outside chance at being in the big leagues at some point in 2022.

While the return might be good, July 30, 2021 marks a day that Cubs fans will always remember. A number of crazy trades occurred. Now, the team is only a shell of itself since Opening Day.
