Bryzzo could be on the move

With the trade deadline quickly approaching, and Chicago Cubs fans wanting the band-aid ripped off, both Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo are not in the lineup on Thursday. Rather than suiting up in the series finale against Cincinnati, the tandem is riding the bench amid the plentiful trade rumors.

In an interesting twist, Javier Baez is in the lineup at shortstop. Baez did not play in Wednesday's game due to a supposed injury. That said, Patrick Wisdom replaces Anthony Rizzo at first base on Thursday while the plethora of other roster players fill one of Kris Bryant's many positions.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks now about where the Bryzzo pairing may be traded. For Bryant, the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets seem to be the front runners. As for Rizzo, a return to the Boston Red Sox organization could be in the cards for the present day Mr. Cub.

In addition to Bryant and Rizzo, RHP Craig Kimbrel is also expected to be on the move. Kimbrel has been nothing short of elite this season, and will be a hot commodity in this trade deadline market. He's expected to also be moved before Friday's deadline.

It's going to be a wild 24+ hours before the deadline. Nothing has happened yet, but the anticipation is high. The only advice to Cubs fans is to buckle up and check back with On Tap Sports Net as news breaks.
