The former M.V.P has finally found a new home. It may have taken until the end of June to do so, but he will be making his way to the New England Patriots. How will this move affect this team moving forward?

The first point to analyze is the money involved, his contract is a veteran minimum contract. That is crazy to see for a player like him. This will mean that he is not guaranteed the starting job, and will have to fight for the job if he wants to take the field in week one. In the end, Newton is betting on himself with a championship caliber team.

The next thought to analyze is the team around him. The top players are still around to help this team continue towards more playoff runs, plus they still have one of the greatest coaches in Bill Belichick. There are quite a few players that Newton will need to become very comfortable with. The first one is wide receiver Julian Edelman. He will be a perfect player for his new quarterback, helping Newton by getting open quickly and keeping him from getting hit often.

His two running backs will be good options as well. The first is James White, a player who thrives in the check down game and will give Newton a security blanket to avoid taking massive hits. As for Sony Michel, he will be his favorite to hand the ball off to. Another option will end up being a tight end, but which one will it end up being for the Patriots? The main name to keep an eye on will be Ryan Izzo.

An interesting name to keep an eye on is second-year wide receiver, N'Keal Harry. His numbers in his rookie season definitely were not great. But, he will be looking to take a leap this season with a new quarterback. He will be able to be a big play threat for Newton to target down the field and in the end zone. With the odd offseason, it will be interesting to see what happens for this team during the season with a new quarterback in the room.

Will the Patriots really have a quarterback battle? Can they still run the AFC East? Maybe they continue their dynasty, just with a different look?
