The Chicago Fire look to extend their unbeaten run to six matches when they visit the Philadelphia Union on Saturday at Subaru Park.
The Fire (8-10-6, 30 points) are coming off a 3-2 comeback win at Charlotte FC to climb into the seventh and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The victory marked the first consecutive road wins for the Fire since October 2013. Chicago hasn't won three straight on the road since May 2009.
The Fire have a tough opponent in Philadelphia (12-3-9, 45 points), which is in first place in the East. The Union had its winning streak snapped at five matches with a 3-1 loss at FC Cincinnati. Philadelphia has preformed well at home, boasting a 17 regular-season match unbeaten streak (12-0-5) since last September. The Union have outscored their opponents 36-7 in that stretch, including 15-1 during the past three matches.
The Fire defeated Philadelphia 1-0 earlier this season on June 29 in Chicago. Chicago has dropped eight straight matches (0-5-3) since its last road win against the Union in 2013.
