Kacper Przybylko scored twice for the Chicago Fire to rally and extend their unbeaten run to five matches with a 3-2 win at Charlotte FC on Saturday.
Federico Navarro also scored, and Xherdan Shaqiri had two assists for Chicago (8-10-6, 30 points), which moved into a playoff spot. Gabriel Slonina made three saves for the Fire, who won consecutive road matches for the first time since October 2013.
"We are still not, you know, putting away as many chances as we should," Fire head coach Ezra Hendrickson said. "But we are doing it enough to win, because we play very good defensively as a team. Even though tonight we gave up a couple soft goals, we were able to on the road score three goals to win this game and that's not easy to do, especially in a place like this with those type of fans and that type of atmosphere.
"It's just a matter of us now not shooting ourselves in the foot, so to speak, and continuing to be consistent and take our chances when we get them.”
Yordy Reyna's header in the opening minute gave Charlotte (9-13-2, 29 points) a 1-0 lead.
Przybylko tied it 1-1 in the 21st minute off a rebound from Gaston Gimenez's shot on net. Shaqiri headed a lob pass from Jairo Torres to Navarro, who blasted a left-footed shot into the net for a 2-1 lead in the 24th.
But Karol Swiderski leveled it in the 45th minute to enter halftime 2-2.
Shaqiri chipped a no-look pass to Przybylko, who buried it into the bottom corner for the game-winner in the 52nd.
