The Chicago Fire announced that they have loaned 17-year-old goalkeeper Chris Brady to their USL League One affiliate Forward Madison FC. Brady will join goalkeepers Phil Breno and Aidan Hogan on Forward Madison FC's roster. Of course, the Fire will have the right to recall Brady at any time throughout the season.

Who Is Chris Brady?

Chris Brady is a native of Naperville, IL, and he signed as the 19th Homegrown Player in Club history in March of 2020. Playing with Forward Madison FC in 2020, Brady became the starting goal keeper halfway through the season. He posted three shut outs in eight starts and was named the USL League One Young Player of the Year.

When Will Brady Return?

So far in 2021, Brady has not played in a game for the Fire, so the loan to Forward Madison FC makes a lot of sense. Most likely, he can either supplant Phil Breno as the starting goalkeeper in Madison or at least split time with him. As Brady continues to develop, he has an exciting future in store in Chicago. It just may need to wait until 2022 or beyond.
